The European Union is closely coordinating its actions with its transatlantic partners regarding Russia's proposals on security guarantees. This is stated in the statement of the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign and Security Policy Josep Borrell, published on the website of the European External Relations Service (EEAS) following a telephone conversation with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
“The European Union is in close coordination with its transatlantic partners and other like-minded people, including on the two draft agreements submitted by Russia concerning the European security architecture,” the text of the document says.
Earlier it was reported that the head of European diplomacy Borrell and the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Kuleba discussed the risk of a Russian invasion during a telephone conversation. The statement notes that the head of Euro-diplomacy and the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry discussed the security situation in Eastern Europe in the light of “Russia's military build-up around Ukraine.”
