British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has revealed why Russian President Vladimir Putin actually attacked Ukraine.
Johnson clarified that Putin himself did not believe in his statements that Ukraine would become a member of NATO in the foreseeable future and knew perfectly well that no warheads would be placed on Ukrainian soil.
– And he doesn’t believe in the mythical nonsense that he wrote about the history of the Russian people either … He is afraid of Ukraine for a completely different reason. He is afraid because there is a free press in Ukraine. There are free elections in Ukraine. And every year, as Ukraine moved closer, albeit not without mistakes, to freedom, democracy and open markets, he became more and more afraid of the Ukrainian example,” the British Prime Minister emphasized.
Putin more The only thing he was afraid of, Johnson says, is that people would see themselves being sent to prison for 15 years in Putin's Russia just for calling an invasion an invasion.
– And if you want to compete with Putin in the elections, you will either be poisoned or shot,” the British prime minister recalled.
In his opinion, Putin is in a panic because of the possibility of the so-called color revolution in Moscow.
– That is why he is trying with such cruelty to extinguish the flame of freedom in Ukraine. And that's why it's so vital that it fails,” Johnson concluded.
