British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has contracted the coronavirus. Reported by Reuters.
It is noted that the British leader's symptoms are mild. After testing positive, Johnson decided to self-isolate at the Prime Minister's Downing Street residence.
On March 23, Johnson announced the introduction of a general quarantine in the country. The British are only allowed to go out on a few occasions. These include shopping for essential goods, exercising once a day, medical needs, and commuting. Also, the country has a ban on gatherings in groups of more than two people.
Prior to that, study authors from University College London (UCL), the University of Cambridge and Health Data Research UK stated that Britain is pursuing the wrong policy to combat the coronavirus. They called the measures taken by the government not tough enough.
According to the latest data, over 542 thousand people infected with coronavirus have been identified in the world; 24 thousand people died, 124 thousand were cured. An outbreak of pneumonia COVID-19 caused by a new type of coronavirus was first recorded in December 2019 in Wuhan, China.
