Due to the war in Ukraine, many people need to take their child abroad to make sure they are safe. But sometimes there can be problems at the border, and the planned trip can fail.

The State Border Service explained what documents are needed in order to take the child out. They also told who exactly can do this if the parents do not have such an opportunity.

Who can take the child out and what documents are needed

While martial law is in force in Ukraine, a child under 16 can be accompanied by one of the parents when crossing the border. In addition to them, it can be a grandmother, grandfather, adult brother, sister, or another person authorized by one of the parents.

Also, a child can travel accompanied by a stepfather or stepmother without a notarized consent to the other parent. If a child crosses the border with someone else not from this list, then there must be a written consent from the father or mother, but certified by the guardianship and guardianship authorities. If the consent is from two parents, then it must be notarized.

Children can go abroad for recreation and recreation

The Cabinet of Ministers has simplified the procedure for leaving for this purpose. In order for the children to leave, a group must be organized and the consent of the National Social Service is required. Documents should not be notarized.

The following documents are required for border control:

  • the consent of the National Social Service for the departure of a group of children;
  • lists of a group of children and persons accompanying abroad;
  • passport of a citizen of Ukraine for the child to travel abroad or birth certificate of the child;
  • Children's Services approves the consent of each child's representatives to leave the child
  • Application by the parents for the child's departure abroad, certified by the Children's Services.

Helping Ukrainians Abroad

  • Since the Russian attack on our state, a million Ukrainians have fled the war. These are predominantly women and children. The states of Europe and not only help everyone in every way they can to make them feel comfortable. More Ukrainians went to Poland. Now another help center has been opened for them in Warsaw. There, Ukrainians can get psychological help and learn the language, and their children can study remotely.
  • And the authorities of another Polish city of Wroclaw decided to make a small gift for our people there. They printed a Ukrainian-language version of the book “Wroclaw ABC”, embroidered with illustrations and letters with elements of the history of Wroclaw. It will be distributed to children from Ukraine. Previously, the book was available only in Polish, but now it has also been translated into Ukrainian.
  • The Czech Republic also helps the Ukrainians, where many of our women and children also fled from the war. The Czech government has decided that it will continue social payments to Ukrainian refugees. Holders of a temporary protection visa after staying in the country for more than six months and then will be able to receive money. But the allowance was reduced. Instead of 5 thousand kroons, 4250 kroons will be allocated for an adult and 3050 kroons for a child or youth under 26.
