Bookmakers named favorites for the Nobel Prize in Literature
The Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature will be announced in Sweden on Thursday. Bookmakers have unveiled the top five writers who have the most chances to take this award, RBC reports with reference to Smartkets.
It is noted that the top 3 favorites among bookmakers included the Japanese novelist Haruki Murakami, Ngugi Wa Thiongo from Kenya, as well as the Russian writer Lyudmila Ulitskaya.
In addition to them, bets are accepted on the Romanian poet Mircea Carterescu,
Norwegian writer Yuna Fosse, Frenchwoman Annie Erno.
At the same time, Erno and Thiongo (8/1) are the favorites this year for the rates made by the British company Ladbrokes. Based on the bets made, Murakami's chances are 10/1, Canadian Margaret Atwood has the same result, and Ulitskaya's chances are 12/1.

This year, due to the pandemic, it was decided to refuse to hold a single ceremony in Oslo, the winner will receive an award in his country. Recall that last year the prize was awarded to the American poet Louise Gluck. She received an award for her “unmistakable poetic voice.”
