Body parts found at Boeing 737 crash site in Indonesia

Indonesian rescuers found body parts, clothing and metal debris at the crash site of a Boeing 737 passenger plane in the Java Sea. Reported by the Associated Press, citing officials.

According to the head of the National Search and Rescue Agency, these finds were found between the islands of Lankang and Laki. Indonesian Transport Minister Budi Kariya Sumadi said that all forces were directed to find the crashed plane after determining the possible crash site.

According to Flight Radar, a flight of the Indonesian airline Sriwijaya Air, en route from Jakarta to Potianak, disappeared from radar four minutes after departure. Later it became known that the plane fell into the water. Debris and body parts are said to have been found at the crash site. Indonesian television broadcast footage of fishermen showing small debris found in the Gulf of Jakarta.

There could be 59 people on board, including at least six children. According to other sources, 62 people flew on the plane, including 10 children and six crew members. There were no Russians among the passengers.
