TASS, August 24. Social network Facebook has begun testing a feature that will give users the ability to make video and audio calls through the main application. Bloomberg reported this on Monday.
As the agency notes, earlier users could send messages to social networks from a mobile phone only using a separate Messenger application. The new feature, the company spokesman said, will reduce the need to switch between the main app and Messenger.
Some users will be able to use this feature starting Monday. Information about in which countries, other than the United States, the experiment will be available, is not provided.
Facebook was founded on February 4, 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg and three of his fellow students while they were studying at Harvard University. The company, headquartered in Menlo Park, California, owns the social networks Facebook and Instagram, as well as the WhatsApp and Messenger applications.
