Apple plans to introduce a new Apple Watch with an updated screen, faster processor and improved wireless connectivity, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the company's plans.
The new model will be called Apple Watch Series 7. At the same time, the body temperature sensor, which the company planned to create earlier, will not be included in this year's model – such an update will most likely be postponed to 2022, Bloomberg said.
For this year's model, Apple has tested thinner display bezels and a new laminating technique that brings the display closer to the front of the watch. According to a Bloomberg interlocutor, the new watch will be thicker, but for the user these changes will not be noticeable.
An Apple spokesman declined to comment on this information to the agency.
The previous model, the Apple Watch Series 6, was unveiled by the company on September 15 last year at its headquarters in Cupertino. It has a built-in sensor for monitoring the level of oxygen in the blood. The device determines this indicator by the color of blood in 15 seconds.
