US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said during the Munich Security Conference that the shelling in Donbas, which has been recorded in the past 48 hours, is part of the Russian scenario.
He clarified that the actions of the Russian Federation are aimed at creating false provocations that would justify the launch of a new full-scale Russian attack on Ukraine in response to these provocations.
“We are doing our best to make it clear that there is a diplomatic path, that differences must be resolved through dialogue, through diplomacy. And we are deeply concerned that this is not the path Russia has chosen,” Blinken added.
According to the US Secretary of State, the lessons of history point to this – 2014 in Ukraine and 2008 in Georgia, as well as the fact that the Kremlin has not withdrawn its troops from the Ukrainian borders and temporarily occupied territories.
