US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken discussed containing Russia's “aggression” against Ukraine with Foreign Ministers of Great Britain, Germany and France Elizabeth Truss, Annalena Berbock, and Jean-Yves Le Drian. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the statement of the American Foreign Ministry.

During the conversation, the foreign ministers confirmed their readiness to collect a high price from the Russian Federation if the plans attributed to it are implemented.

“They discussed the importance of continuing coordination to contain any Russian aggression against Ukraine and reaffirmed the consensus among allies and partners to organize massive consequences and charge Russia a hefty price for such actions,” the statement said.

Earlier it became known that Blinken had discussed by phone with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy efforts aimed at a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Donbass. The diplomat reaffirmed “the unwavering support of the United States for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine in the context of the increasing military presence of the Russian Federation on the border of Ukraine.”

In recent weeks, statements have been made in Kiev and in the West about the threat of a Russian attack on Ukraine. Moscow stresses that it has no aggressive intentions. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the information about a possible invasion empty and groundless escalation of tension.
