US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, speaking of sanctions against Russian President Vladimir Putin, called them an “unprecedented price” for a special operation in the Donbass, noting that Moscow did not appreciate the good intentions of the United States in the negotiations on strategic stability. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

“The US is setting an unprecedented price for a brutal and unprovoked attack on the people of Ukraine for President Putin and his entourage. Putin rejected the goodwill and efforts of the United States and allies to seek an answer to our common security concerns through dialogue and to avoid unnecessary conflict and human suffering,” Blinken said.

Earlier it became known that Washington plans to impose blocking sanctions against the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF). According to White House spokesman Jen Psaki, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen will make the appropriate decision.
