Blinken and Zelensky discussed peaceful resolution of the conflict in Donbass and contacts with Russia

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken discussed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy efforts to peacefully resolve the conflict in Donbass, as well as upcoming diplomatic contacts with Russia. This was reported by TASS with reference to the American Foreign Ministry.
During the telephone conversation, Blinken confirmed “the unwavering support of the United States for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine in the context of the increase in the military presence of the Russian Federation on the border of Ukraine,” the message says.

stressed that Washington will continue close consultations with Kiev and NATO allies “to contain further Russian aggression.”
Earlier, the United States, within the framework of an international technical assistance project, allocated Ukraine $ 24.5 million to strengthen the borders with Russia and Belarus. Most of the funds will be spent on strengthening border units and providing them with an updated technical base, the State Border Service of the republic said.
