Juventus hooligans have been sentenced to prison terms

The Turin trial caused a sensation on the football scene. Twelve hooligans had to answer. The allegations: severe extortion, money laundering and private violence. Now the judgments are there, in six cases there are guilty verdicts.
The court found it proven that the hooligans had formed a criminal organization to blackmail Serie A club Juventus. The club had started the investigation with a complaint three years ago. The hooligans are said to have “militarily controlled” the ticket trade for the fan curve. There were also blackmail attempts against Juve employees in order to get cheap tickets.
The investigators started the “Last banner” campaign, which led to raids across Italy. The results have now led to convictions. The highest sentence went to a hooligan leader who was sentenced to four years and ten months in prison. He was also banned from the stadium for five years.
