The new US administration's relationship with Russia will be complicated and will require a lot of effort on the part of Washington. This forecast was shared by US President's National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan during the American Peace Institute event. The broadcast was conducted on the organization's official YouTube channel.
According to him, the new US President Joe Biden took a cold-blooded, firm and practical approach to relations with Moscow. “It will not be easy and will require effort because Russia poses a threat in many ways,” Sullivan predicted.
On January 26, Biden had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. During the conversation, Putin noted that normalizing relations between Russia and the United States would be in the interests of both countries.
Earlier, the Russian ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov, said that Moscow hopes for a new chapter in relations with Washington in connection with the arrival of Joe Biden as president. According to the ambassador, the Russian side has a specific program for developing relations with the United States.
