The US President scheduled a telephone conversation with Chinese leader Xi Jinping for July 28. The conversation will take place against the backdrop of threats from the Ministry of Defense to “take drastic measures” because of the visit of Speaker of the House of Representatives Pelonis to Taiwan.
US President Joe Biden scheduled a telephone conversation with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. During the conversation, the presidents, in particular, will discuss the situation around Taiwan and Ukraine.
The Wall Street Journal writes about this.
As it became known, on July 28, Joe Biden will have a telephone conversation with Xi Jinping amid threats from the Chinese Ministry of Defense to take “strong measures” due to the visit of Speaker of the House of Representatives Pelosi to Taiwan.
In addition, the leaders will discuss the situation around Taiwan and Ukraine.
“Everything from tensions around Taiwan before the war in Ukraine, as well as how we can better deal with competition between our two countries, especially in the economic sphere,” said White House spokesman John Kirby.
It is also interesting that this is already fifth conversation between the two presidents. The situation is aggravated, according to Kirby, by Beijing's aggressive rhetoric about a possible visit by Pelosi.
Recall that the head of the Slovenian Foreign Ministry visited Irpin.
