US President Joe Biden, along with his wife Jill, were going to go on vacation to their native state of Delaware amid the situation in Ukraine. It is reported by the New York Post.
The politician's public schedule released by the White House showed that the president would spend the weekend at his home in Wilmington. “President Biden was in the Delaware mood when invading Russian troops threatened to take control of the Ukrainian capital on Saturday,” the American leader’s publication chided, noting that Biden spent 28 percent of his first year as president in Delaware.
In September 2021, the American president went on vacation during the Afghan crisis. He also spent a long Labor Day weekend in Delaware.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a special military operation in the Donbass. Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky announced the severance of diplomatic relations with Russia. Kyiv began the evacuation of embassy staff from Moscow.
