Republican Senator Ted Cruz on Twitter urged US President Joe Biden to heed the opinion of the upper house of Congress, where the majority supported a bill to tighten sanctions against the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. About it writes RIA Novosti.
“President Biden should listen to the Senate, people and government of Ukraine and reconsider his disastrous decision to grant Russia relief from congressional sanctions,” the senator wrote.
Earlier, the US Senate rejected Ted Cruz's bill to impose new sanctions against Nord Stream 2. This decision was made during a meeting of the upper house of the legislature. The document failed to get the required 60 votes (out of 100 possible) for approval. 43 senators voted against.
