US President Joe Biden said that during a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, he said that Moscow's invasion of Ukraine was inadmissible. Reported by Reuters.
According to the agency, Biden made it clear to Putin that such actions would lead to the imposition of sanctions against Russia and an increase in the American military presence in Europe.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that he would soon hold talks with Biden. According to him, the conversation will take place on Sunday, January 2. The parties planned to coordinate steps for the sake of peace in Ukraine and security in Europe, the head of the Ukrainian state added.
On the evening of December 30, the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States held a telephone conversation. The dialogue began at 3:35 pm Washington time (11:35 pm Moscow time) on Thursday, December 30, and ended at 4:25 pm (12:25 pm Moscow time on Friday, December 31).
