White House: US President Biden calls on Russia to de-escalate tensions with Ukraine

US President Joe Biden, in a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, announced the readiness of Washington and its allies to give a decisive answer in the event of Russia's “invasion” of Ukraine. This is reported by TASS with reference to the statement of the press secretary of the White House Jen Psaki.
According to her, Biden called on the Russian Federation to de-escalate tensions with Ukraine. “He made it clear that the United States and its allies and partners will give a decisive response if Russia invades Ukraine in the future,” Psaki said.
Earlier, the aide to the head of the Russian state, Yuri Ushakov, said that during negotiations with Biden, Putin had voiced to him a “key idea” about the need for security guarantees from the United States. According to Ushakov, Biden agreed with this point of view, he reacted to it logically and seriously.
