US President Joe Biden said that cases of infection with the omicron strain of coronavirus were recorded in the White House, RIA Novosti reported.
In his address to the nation, Biden said that the omicron strain was found in the White House. He disclosed the details of the cases identified: according to him, a new COVID-19 mutation was found among vaccinated people.
“Omicron is transmitted so easily, which is why we see fully vaccinated people becoming infected with the coronavirus,” the US leader emphasized.
Biden added that cases of infection with the omicron strain COVID-19 are present in every organization. “Even in the White House among those vaccinated against omicron,” he noted.
In the same address to US citizens, Biden said the omicron strain of the coronavirus had become dominant in the country.
Earlier it became known that a White House employee who was in close contact with Biden was infected with COVID-19. The President took infection tests on Sunday and Monday. Both studies were negative, so Biden will not quarantine.
