Biden questions Trump's impeachment success

by alex

US President Joe Biden doubted that the impeachment process of the country's former leader Donald Trump would be successful. This was reported by the CNN TV channel.

The American leader believes that the impeachment will not get the necessary Republican votes in the Senate and will not take place. Biden acknowledged that the process will affect the consideration of his cabinet nominees in the Senate, but noted that it would be worse if the impeachment process was not carried out.

As the channel emphasizes, the president said that the result of the process would have been different if Trump had to work on his post for another six months.

It also became known that Trump played golf the day before, January 25. He is ready for the trial and set to make it go quickly.

The Associated Press previously reported that more and more Republicans are opposed to the impeachment trial of former US President Donald Trump. To pass a resolution of impeachment, the votes of two-thirds of the members of the upper house of Congress are required, that is, 67 senators out of 100. For this, 17 senators of the same party must vote against Trump. However, according to the agency, there are significantly fewer supporters of impeachment among Republican senators at the moment.

On January 14, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to impeach Trump in the wake of the recent riots in Washington. The last vote was the second attempt to remove Trump from office.

Democrats motivate the decision to impeach Trump, among other things, by the fact that after the process is over, he will not be able to run for president. This is the first time the US has attempted to remove a state leader from office after the end of his presidential term. It was reported that the process of impeachment of former US President Donald Trump in the US Senate will begin on February 8.
