Joe Biden
US Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has promised Russia “consequences” for alleged interference in the country's internal affairs. It is reported by NBC.
Biden noted that if he wins the presidential election, Russia's attempts to influence the American electoral process will not go unanswered. He also said as a “message to President Vladimir Putin” that he would not allow the US sovereignty to be violated.
At the same time, the Democratic candidate stressed that the current US President Donald Trump refuses in any way to resist the alleged interference in the American elections.
Biden had previously called Russia an adversary of the United States. The politician also commented on rumors about Moscow's interference in the American electoral process: he said that a price would be paid for them, and that would be an economic price. In addition, the democrat added that China is also a serious opponent of the United States.
In April 2019, US Special Attorney Robert Mueller published a report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, which was won by Donald Trump. It says that Moscow did interfere in the American electoral process, but suspicions about the connection between the Russian side and Trump could not be confirmed. Later, a federal court in Washington ruled that the connection of the “troll factory” with the Kremlin was also not proven.
