The President of the United States is confident that such a step was correct.
President of the United States Joe Biden during his address to the nation, he explained why he decided to withdraw his candidacy from the election for the next head of the White House.
He announced his address in the Oval Office , reports CNN.
He stated that he believed this was the best way to unite the nation, passing the torch to a new generation.
Biden noted that the 2024 elections will be a fight for democracy that nothing can stop.
“I believe that my record as President, my leadership in the world, my vision for America's future all deserve a second term. But nothing, nothing can stand in the way of saving our democracy – that is including personal ambitions. Therefore, I decided that the best way forward is to pass the torch to a new generation. This is the best way to unite our nation,” said the US President.
Recall that it was previously reported that Biden transferred his powers to support Ukraine to the US Treasury and State Department.
