US President Joe Biden intends to hold a telephone conversation with the head of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on January 2. This is reported by Reuters with reference to a White House spokesman.
According to the American official, the head of the United States will discuss with Zelensky the buildup of Russia's military presence near the borders of Ukraine, preparation for upcoming contacts via diplomatic lines in order to facilitate the de-escalation of the situation in the region, and also in the conversation will confirm support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that Biden and Russian leader Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation on key security issues. According to the aide to the President of Russia Yuri Ushakov, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue, in general, the American counterpart reacted seriously and logically to the point of view of the Russian leader, and he, in turn, stressed several times the main provisions that Moscow adheres to.
