Joe Biden called Russia and the United States great powers that are responsible for global stability. The White House was broadcasting the speech of the American leader.
“[Russian President Vladimir] Putin and I – we have a significant responsibility to keep this relationship working. I take this responsibility very seriously and I am sure he will too, ”Biden added, noting that the conversation between him and his Russian counterpart was open and respectful.
The US President also named a similar line between Russians and Americans. According to him, these are two “proud and patriotic people” who are interested in a peaceful and secure future.
The telephone conversation between Putin and Biden took place on April 13. The Kremlin said that during the conversation, both sides expressed their readiness to continue the dialogue on the most important areas of ensuring global security, which would meet the interests of Russia, the United States and the entire world community. Biden also suggested that Putin meet in person.
