Байден призвал республиканцев в Конгрессе одобрить более 60 миллиардов долларов для Украины

The US Congress has reached an agreement that will help prevent a shutdown, and now must "do its duty".

US President Joe Biden, after concluding an agreement to finance the government in 2024, called on Republicans in Congress to approve additional funding. We are talking about more than 60 billion dollars to help Ukraine.

The President said this in a statement that was made public on the White House website.

Biden noted that congressional Republicans must now stop threatening to shut down the government and fulfill their core responsibility of funding critical homeland and national security priorities.

“Including my additional request for funding to support Ukraine. It's time for them to act,” Biden emphasized.

At the same time, the US President emphasized that the agreement brought the country one step closer to “preventing an unnecessary shutdown and protecting important national priorities.”

“It reflects the funding levels that I have negotiated with both parties,” Biden said.

Recall that on January 8, Republicans and Democrats in the US Congress reached an agreement on federal spending in 2024 to prevent a partial government shutdown (“shutdown”). The total figure includes $886 billion for defense and $704 billion for non-defense spending.
