Psaki: Biden briefed on hostage situation at Texas synagogue

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that US President Joe Biden was briefed on the hostage situation at a synagogue in Colleyville, Texas. She wrote about this on her Twitter account.
Psaki noted that the head of state will continue to receive updates on what is happening. She also stressed that high-ranking representatives of the national security team are in touch with the leadership of federal law enforcement agencies.
Earlier it was reported that the man who took the hostages in the synagogue put forward his demands. According to ABC News, the gunman demanded the release of his terrorist sister, who was sentenced to 86 years in prison for the attempted murder of a US soldier in 2010.
On January 15, it became known that in the American city of Colleyville, a man with a weapon burst into a synagogue and took four hostages, including a rabbi. Special forces arrived at the scene of the emergency, residents of nearby areas were evacuated.
