The coronavirus vaccination program for Americans is being carried out several weeks ahead of schedule. This statement was made by US President Joe Biden.
The White House chief said his goal is to ensure that 100 million doses of vaccines are administered to Americans in the first 100 days of his president, noting that 50 million doses have already been administered in 37 days in office.
“Today I am here to report that we are already halfway there. 50 million vaccinations in just 37 days since I became president. This is several weeks ahead of schedule, even taking into account the setbacks we faced during the recent winter storms, ”said the American leader.
Biden noted that the more COVID-19 vaccinations are made, the faster the pandemic will be defeated, also emphasizing that the difficult weather conditions that have arisen in the central and southern regions of the country did not interfere with the vaccination.
“We are heading in the right direction despite the chaos we inherited from the previous administration, which left us without a real plan to vaccinate all Americans,” he added, urging Americans to “not relax.”
The US President also called the appearance in the country of the third COVID-19 vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson as “extremely promising”.
