Sullivan believes that neither Abrams tanks nor F-16 aircraft helped Ukraine.
The problems of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the front are not related to a lack of weapons or equipment, but to a shortage of personnel composition.
This was stated by US President Joe Biden's National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in an interview with PBS News.
“Have we seen a significant change on the battlefield since we provided Ukraine with tanks? Is there that much difference with the F-16 ? In our view, there is no weapon system that makes a difference in this fight. It's about manpower, and Ukraine, in our view, needs to do more to shore up its lines in terms of the number of forces it has on the front lines,” Sullivan replied.
When asked about the Biden administration's role in the Ukrainian case, Sullivan replied: “Ukraine was in danger of disappearing from the map. And thanks to the brave Ukrainians, their ingenuity and courage, and thanks to President Joe Biden, who united the countries of the world, we defended Kyiv, we defended Ukraine. Ukraine will continue to be a prosperous democracy anchored in Western institutions in the future.”
Earlier, the media reported that US President Joe Biden had authorized Ukraine to use ATACMS missiles to strike Russia in response to Russia's decision to involve North Korean troops in the fighting in the Kursk region.
The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell today effectively confirmed that the US had authorized Ukraine to strike Russian territory to a depth of up to 300 km.
However, the US has never confirmed this information.
