And he admits that the result of weakening arms assistance to Ukraine — this is what happened with Avdeevka, and everyone admits it. We want to save the lives of our guys, I’m glad that the military command has such a correct, informed decision, — said Vladimir Zelensky on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

The President expressed confidence that “we will return everything, we will not give anything to these murderers”.

Zelensky will meet with Biden online

The head of state also said that during the G7 meeting, which will take place on February 24, there will be an online meeting between him and US President Joe Biden.

— We will be in constant contact with Biden, we agreed on this. I won’t say some details, but I think that as part of the G7 meeting, we will meet online in the near future, — Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian leader added that he is in constant contact with the White House and congressmen.

In addition, Vladimir Zelensky added that during a conversation with the US President, Biden assured that he would support Ukraine and would do everything for a positive result.

— I am confident that the United States will remain our strategic partner, — Zelensky said.

Withdrawal of troops from Avdiivka

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky announced the operation to withdraw troops from Avdiivka on the night of February 17. He added that preserving the lives of Ukrainian military personnel is the highest value.

At the same time, the commander of the OSGV Tavria Alexander Tarnavsky added that the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Avdiivka is the only correct decision.

Later, a press officer of the 3rd Separate Brigade, which participated in the rearguard battles during the withdrawal of troops from Avdiivka, said that there is no information about the mass capture of Ukrainian military personnel when leaving the city. At the same time, information about individual cases requires confirmation.

In addition, the indicated representative of the brigade, as well as the Main Intelligence Directorate, said that the Ukrainian Defense Forces took positions on previously prepared defense lines.
