In the smartphone market, Samsung and Huawei have taken leading positions. This is reported by the publication GizmoChina with reference to a study by the Visual Captalist agency.
According to data for the second quarter of 2020, the share of Samsung and Huawei is 20 percent. In particular, the agency's specialists noted that Huawei's leadership is due to its popularity in the Chinese market, where the manufacturer's share is 46 percent. In third place was Apple with a share of 14 percent. Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo and Lenovo were also named some of the best phone manufacturers. The share of other brands is 16 percent. The report's authors noted that Chinese brands account for over 50 percent of the smartphone market.
In the operating system market, Android was recognized as the undisputed leader, on which 74 percent of smartphones work. The iOS preinstalled on the iPhone runs 25 percent of devices. Also in the Visual Captalist study, the majority of the world's phones – 29 percent – have a Qualcomm processor. MediaTek and HiSilicon accounted for 26 and 16 percent, respectively.
The agency's report also cites figures for the wearable market. Thus, Apple turned out to be the leader in the wireless headphones market with a 35 percent share, the company's success is associated with the popularity of the AirPods headset. Xiaomi and Samsung accounted for 10 and 6 percent, respectively. The American company also leads the smartwatch market with a 30 percent share, with other lesser-known brands accounting for 42 percent.
At the end of September, Roskachestvo specialists published an up-to-date rating of the best, in their opinion, smartphones. Topping the list is the Samsung Galaxy S10 + with 128GB storage, followed by the iPhone 11 Pro Max with 256GB storage and the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra with 512GB storage and 5G support.
