The Italian handgun manufacturer Beretta buys the British arms manufacturer and clothing retailer Holland & Holland.

The Italian handgun manufacturer Beretta has acquired the British arms manufacturer and clothing retailer Holland & Holland. Founded in 1835, the company is based in London and looks back on almost 200 years of history. The company is particularly popular with hunters and marksmen around the world.

According to the “APA”, Beretta acquired the entire block of shares in Holland & Holland, although the conditions were not specified. The sales contract also includes the renowned “Holland & Holland Shooting Ground” in West London, which is one of the best shooting ranges, according to Beretta.

“In view of the Brexit challenge, we are very happy to increase our commitment in Great Britain,” said Beretta's Chairman of the Board of Directors Pietro Gussalli Beretta.

The British tradition of Holland & Holland should also continue to be preserved.

As reported on, Beretta Holding claims to have stakes in 32 companies. The group's turnover is therefore 685 million euros per year.

The beginnings of the Beretta Group go back to the 16th century – the Beretta company was first mentioned in a document in 1526. This makes Beretta the oldest arms company in the world. The company has been owned by the same family for almost half a millennium.

One of the most famous weapon models is the Beretta 92FS 9 mm Parabellum, also known as the M9. As the “APA” continues, it is the official service pistol of many armed forces, such as the US Army.
