The commitment will be formalized in an agreement on security guarantees.

Belgium will transfer 30 modern fighter aircraft to Ukraine F-16 by 2028. However, the first planes should be sent already in 2024.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium Aja Labib in a commentary to RTL.

According to her, the first fighters should be delivered to Ukraine “by the end of the year.” However, the diplomat did not specify how many ships we are talking about.

Lyabib emphasized that the commitment to transfer the F-16 will be formalized by the agreement, which will be signed during the visit of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to Belgium on May 28. In addition, Brussels will also take from its reserves ammunition to equip F-16s destined for Ukraine.

According to Lyabib, Ukraine’s support is necessary to stop Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who has decided to “push back the borders of European countries.”

As reported, the Czech Republic announced when supplies of shells for Ukraine will begin. Prague is currently concentrating on fulfilling the agreements that have been concluded and paid for.
