Belarus will receive compensation due to the postponement of the Ice Hockey World Championship

Belarus will receive compensation from the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) due to the postponement of the 2021 Ice Hockey World Championship. This was announced to Sport.cz by a member of the organization's council Piotr Břiza.

Břiza drew attention to the fact that the IIHF does not expect sanctions because of what happened, but the federation will be obliged to pay compensation to the Belarusian organizers, prescribed in the contract. He added that a report from the IIHF Secretary General will determine the costs and consequences of this decision.
