The exercises will include simulated strikes on ground targets and maneuvers to evacuate and support pilots.
From June 23 to 27, the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of Belarus will conduct large-scale flight and tactical exercises simulating combat operations and strikes against a simulated enemy.
The Belarusian Ministry of Defense reported this.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the main tasks during the exercises will be to practice the withdrawal of air units from the zone of a simulated air attack, provide support to ground forces in identifying, blocking and destroying the enemy, as well as strikes on ground targets. In addition, the program of the exercises includes providing airspace cover, conducting reconnaissance, transport and landing operations and the evacuation of pilots who suffered an “accident” during flights.
As noted, special attention will be paid to improving the commander's training and practical training of crews. Particular emphasis will be placed on developing high combat, moral-psychological and commander's qualities of personnel.
The result of the exercises should be an increase in the operational level of interaction between aviation and air defense, as well as strengthening the readiness to conduct combat operations in difficult conditions.
Let us recall that we previously wrote that Russia and Belarus reduced the scale of the Zapad-2025 exercises and moved the main phase further away from the NATO border in order to show the West that they are not seeking escalation and are trying to appear restrained.
