Since January 1, 2022, Belarus has banned the import of a number of Western goods from countries that have come under the food embargo imposed in response to sanctions against Minsk. REN TV reminds of this.

The list includes cattle and pigs, pork, offal and sausages, salt, milk, confectionery, nuts, fruits and more. In total, the ban affected over 20 groups of various products.

In early December, the Belarusian government decided to introduce a food embargo on a wide range of goods. The ban on the import of goods will affect the states that have applied sanctions against Minsk.

The government decree states that the import ban will be imposed on the EU and its member states, the United States, Canada, Norway, Albania, Iceland, North Macedonia, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Montenegro and Switzerland.

In early December, new sanctions against Belarus were introduced by the EU, the US, the UK and Canada. 183 Belarusian individuals and 26 organizations were restricted by the European Union. The United States has imposed new sanctions on the country's national debt, which threaten with a shortage of dollars, and has banned its citizens and institutions from cooperating with Belaruskali.

Canada's sanctions affected 24 individuals and seven legal entities from Belarus. Great Britain introduced restrictions against Belaruskali and a number of citizens of the country.
