One missile regiment was overturned in the Mogilev region.
Neighboring Belarus pushed its air defense unit to the border with the aggressor Russian Federation. This was probably done against the backdrop of UAV attacks on military targets in Russia,
This was reported by the monitoring project “Belarusian Gayun”.
It is noted that one of the units of the 740th anti-aircraft missile regiment of the military forces of Belarus was transferred to the Klimovichi district of the Mogilev region. This missile regiment (military unit 15847) is stationed in Borisov and is part of the North-Western Operational Command. The regiment is armed with the Osa-AKM air defense system.
“The military are located in the vicinity of the settlement of Fedotova Buda in close proximity to the border with Russia (Smolensk region). The distance from the settlement to the border is about five kilometers,” notes Gayun.
The purpose of bringing the Belarusian military to the Russian border is unknown. After all, there are no strategically important industrial facilities located on the territory of the Klimovichi district that could be additionally covered by air defense systems. In addition, the industry of neighboring districts of the Mogilev region is represented mainly by light and food industry enterprises.
Analysts note that the main units of the anti-aircraft missile forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus are located in the western and central parts of Belarus. Apart from Bobruisk, where the 147th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment (military air defense) is stationed, there are no anti-aircraft missile forces units in the east.
“Let’s assume that due to the inability of Russian air defense to completely prevent drone strikes, the Belarusian military has become seriously involved in covering the airspace in the east of Belarus. Probably, they sent the 740th regiment to practice carrying out tasks in “new areas of terrain.” it is excluded that the transfer was due to another reason,” notes Gayun.
Recall that the speaker of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Ilya Yevlash assessed the threat of air strikes from Belarus. According to him, since Russian aviation can travel long distances in a fairly short time and conducts training on the territory of Belarus using its airfields, the threat exists.
