Belarus stated that Ukraine is drawing up troops to the border.
In the Ministry of Defense Belarus stated that Ukraine is allegedly gathering troops to the border and is even trying to “drag the country into war.”
This was stated by Vadim Lukashevich, deputy commander of special operations forces for ideological work of the Belarusian armed forces.
According to him, Ukraine is pulling troops, weapons and military equipment to the border. Allegedly, in the Zhytomyr region “American infantry fighting vehicles, multiple launch rocket systems, heavy long-range artillery and other equipment are stationed.”
Lukashevich calls the situation on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border “characterized by increasing tension.”
“A coalition of Western countries has resolved a hot conflict near our territory. On their part, attempts are being made to involve our country in a war. In these difficult conditions, our country is doing everything to maintain peace on Belarusian soil,” he said.
As reported, Lukashenko was afraid of the threats on the border with Ukraine. Therefore, Belarusian border guards are taking measures to additionally cover the state border with Ukraine.< /p>
ISW analysts note that Belarus' statement about the deployment of an MLRS battalion on the border with Ukraine may be Russia's attempts to increase its military presence in the Republic.
