A number of Belarusian individuals and companies were included in the sanctions list.
Belarus, in response to the adopted sanctions , imposed a ban on the import of goods from the EU, the USA and Britain into its territory.
This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Belarus.
“As a response to illegal external sanctions pressure aimed at undermining the sovereignty of Belarus and deteriorating the welfare of Belarusian citizens, in order to protect national interests, the Government of the Republic of Belarus made a decision on the introduction of a ban on the import into the country of a number of goods originating from states that apply illegal anti-Belarusian sanctions, “the ministry said in a statement.
Now the domestic market will only be filled with “goods from friendly countries”. Such measures may be canceled if the EU, the US reconsiders its position and lifts the sanctions.
As a reminder, the EU has published a “black list” of Belarusian individuals and companies falling under sanctions. The sanctions took effect on December 2. In total, there are 17 names on the list , they are banned from entering the EU and their accounts are frozen here. Also on December 2, new sanctions were introduced against Belarus by the United States. The restrictions affected 20 individuals, 12 organizations, and also three aircraft were sanctioned.
Meanwhile, the EU's “black list” may soon become even longer – here preparing the sixth package of sanctions. And it may contain up to three hundred people and companies.
