Minsk declares a "difficult situation".
Statement Belarus about the deployment of a battalion of multiple launch rocket systems “Polonaise” on the border with Ukraine may be Russia's attempts to increase its military presence in the Republic.
This is reported by analysts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
American analysts cite a statement from the Belarusian Ministry of Defense about the alleged deployment of the Polonaise MLRS on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. The reasons, emphasized in Minsk, were an allegedly “difficult situation”, as well as a sudden check of readiness.
However, ISW notes that the increased activity in Belarus may be the Russian Federation’s efforts to increase its military presence in this country, as well as the further integration of Minsk into a framework favorable for Moscow and the activities of the Wagner PPC in the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
As reported, Lukashenko was afraid of the threats on the border with Ukraine. Therefore, Belarusian border guards are taking measures to additionally cover the state border with Ukraine.< /p>
