The decision of the Moscow Arbitration Court to ban the sale and import of more than 60 models of Samsung smartphones into Russia will not greatly affect their sales. This was reported to RBC in the press service of the telecommunications company “Beeline”.
“The decision to ban the sale of some models of Samsung smartphones in Russia has not yet entered into force. Retail stores “Beeline” are operating normally, there are no changes in the nomenclature of devices sold at the moment, “the company added, commenting on the decision of the Moscow Arbitration Court.
On October 21, the Moscow Arbitration Court adopted the ban on the import and sale of 61 models of Samsung smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip with a flexible screen and the “flagship” Samsung Galaxy S21, in Russia. This happened due to a dispute over an invention under patent No. 2686003, the author of which is Viktor Gulchenko.
Earlier, the Swiss company “Squin SA”, within the framework of this patent, filed a lawsuit against Samsung, stating that it was illegally using the patent “System of electronic payments” in Russia. It describes “a method for conducting an online payment using a customer's mobile device and a merchant's cash register system, which are wirelessly linked by any known standards and protocols.”
