VimpelCom (Beeline trademark) has completed a project to improve the coverage and speed of mobile Internet for visitors to the historical memorial complex “To the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad” on the Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd. A new base station has been built in the area of the memorial complex. Thanks to it, the speed of the mobile Internet, according to the internal analytics of VimpelCom, increased by 30%.
As the director of the Volgograd branch of Beeline Denis Dolgov said, the company has improved communication at the Mamayev Kurgan, realizing the importance of this place for residents and guests of the city.
– In the Volgograd region, Beeline continues to implement a large-scale project to increase network bandwidth and data transmission speed. Over the year, the region's 4G network, which provides high-speed mobile Internet, has increased by more than 1.5 times. The consumption of mobile Internet has grown: compared to July last year, the traffic in the 4G network has doubled, says Denis Dolgov.
Thanks to the increase in the speed of mobile Internet, visitors to the memorial on Mamayev Kurgan can now share their impressions online, broadcast live on social networks, upload photos and videos.
High-speed Internet also allows you to use the Mamayev Kurgan mobile application, which was developed by Beeline in cooperation with the Battle of Stalingrad Museum-Reserve. The mobile guide was released for the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. You can download it from the App Store or Google Play. The app has an embedded audio guide, and thanks to QR codes, you can get additional information about the monuments and see their photos right on the smartphone screen.
