French police detained nine people who allegedly beat 15-year-old Ukrainian teenager Yuri in Paris. Writes about this L'Obs.
According to the newspaper, eight of them are minors. The suspects were taken into custody on charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit a crime. They are also accused of a violent theft.
The incident took place on the evening of January 15th. Yuri was in the company of friends when they were attacked by a group of armed bats. The teenager was unable to escape, and as a result of the beating he received head injuries, fractures of his arms and ribs. During the week, Yuri was in an artificial coma. Later, footage from the crime scene was published on the network, they show how a crowd of young people kicks a young man lying on the ground.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky demanded to find and punish the people who attacked the teenager. In connection with the incident, the Ukrainian Embassy in France made an official request to the Paris prosecutor's office.
