Julian Baumgartlinger will not be available for the national soccer team in the upcoming international matches of the World Cup qualification. As the association announced on Saturday, the ÖFB captain is suffering from knee problems and has recently not been able to train fully. The Salzburg resident has only made short appearances at Bayer Leverkusen, but he is missing from the squad for the Bundesliga game against Augsburg on Saturday. Team boss Franco Foda will decide on a subsequent nomination at the weekend.
The ÖFB team meets the Republic of Moldova (Wednesday, September 1st, Chisinau), Israel (Saturday, September 4th, Haifa) and Scotland (Tuesday, September 7th, Vienna) and is in Group F with four points fourth rank. Denmark tops the table.
