In the Rivne region, they managed to find a nine-year-old girl who did not return home after school. Half a thousand people joined the search for the child: the schoolgirl was found 10 kilometers from her home.
The incident took place in the Varas region. Nine-year-old Yana Gamarts lives in the village of Maly Zholudsk on a farm, and went to school on foot across the field, to the neighboring village of Bolshoi Zholudsk.
On the evening of February 17, the girl's mother turned to the police, after which the search began immediately. Law enforcement officers watched video from surveillance cameras and found out that after school the schoolgirl went home.
One witness reported seeing a similar girl walking down the ditch in the opposite direction. Then the search for the child continued, focusing on small footprints.
“It was they who brought law enforcement officers to the village of Politsy, which is approximately ten kilometers from the village of Bolshoi Zholudsk. The search engines began to comb the territory and houses, the report said.
In addition to law enforcement officers, cynologists, special forces, national guardsmen, rescuers, foresters and even residents of neighboring villages came to the rescue. The police used a drone with a thermal imager.
Girl saved
Local residents found nine-year-old Yana at about one in the morning. The frightened girl squatted and warmed herself in the barn of one of the abandoned houses.
“The frightened and frozen policemen were dressed in a uniform jacket and carried in their arms to the car of the head of the local police,” the report says.
The same night the child was hospitalized. According to the preliminary findings of doctors, the girl was diagnosed with hypothermia and an acute reaction to stress.
Already on the morning of February 18, Yana's parents took Yana home, nothing threatens her life. In addition to her mother and father, seven more brothers and sisters were waiting for her.
