Azerbaijan starts using airspace over Armenia
Azerbaijan began using the airspace of Armenia for passenger flights to Nakhichevan on October 6, Azerbaijan Airlines reported.
The company explained that changing the route of the flight from Baku to Nakhichevan will shorten the flight time and reduce fuel consumption.
“This step demonstrates Azerbaijan's decisive readiness to unblock transport communications in the region, which meets the interests of all border countries,” the Azerbaijani air carrier said in a statement.
Meanwhile, since Tuesday, Russia has resumed flights with five countries: Denmark, Djibouti, Peru, New Zealand and South Africa. The airlines will fly twice a week from Moscow to Djibouti, Wellington, Lima, Cape Town and Johannesburg, and from St. Petersburg to Copenhagen.
In addition, the list of flights to already open countries has expanded.
