AZAL has suspended flights on the Baku-Grozny and Baku-Makhachkala routes.
Azerbaijani airline Azerbaijan Airlines has suspended flights from Baku to the Russian cities of Grozny and Makhachkala. Flights have been canceled until the investigation into the plane crash that occurred on Wednesday, December 25, is completed.
This was reported by the Azerbaijani publication Trend with reference to a statement by Azerbaijan Airlines.
“Flights to other AZAL destinations are carried out according to the regular schedule,” the air carrier said in a statement.
A mourning has been declared in Azerbaijan in connection with the plane crash on December 26.
We remind you that the Embraer 190 passenger plane of Azerbaijan Airlines, flying from Baku to Grozny, crashed 3 km from the Kazakh airport Aktau. More than three dozen people died as a result of the crash. Luckily, 25 passengers on board the plane survived the crash.
