The media reported that Starovoit was found dead near Moscow on Monday, July 7, at approximately 3 p.m. local time.

At the same time, it is claimed that the former minister died more than a day ago, probably on the night from Saturday to Sunday.
The body was found in his 2018 Tesla Model X.
An award pistol was also found at the scene of the suicide. Starovoit received it from the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2023 “for assistance in completing tasks.”
