Aviation expert predicts what Russia will focus on during new attacks

Key points

  • Russia plans to change the tactics of massive attacks, because it cannot use tactical aviation in the same quantities as before.
  • North Korea may send 25,000 workers to Russia to produce Shaheds, which could significantly increase their production.

The recent massive attacks have shown that the Russians have changed the quantitative use of cruise and ballistic missiles. In the future, they will use other weapons to a greater extent.

Aviation expert Konstantin Krivolap told Channel 24 that today Russia has significantly reduced its ability to use strategic aviation due to its reduction in numbers. During the massive attack on June 17, the enemy launched 16 X-101 cruise missiles.

25 thousand North Koreans is a lot

Krivolap noted that previously the occupiers were capable of using almost 90 X-101 missiles. At the same time, Ukrainian forces destroy 90-95% of these missiles.

The Russians decided that it would be cheaper to modernize the Shaheds and change the tactics of striking, placing the main burden on them, the aviation expert explained.

This style of massive attacks, according to him, is when the Shaheds are concentrated in one direction, and then approximately 10 cruise missiles are added and they also carry out strikes with ballistic missiles – the Kinzhal or Iskander.

Please note! The DPRK will probably send up to 25,000 of its citizens to Russia, where they will work at the Shahed plant. It is located in the Alabuga special economic zone in Tatarstan. North Korea is interested in such cooperation, because in exchange, the Russians will teach the North Koreans how to operate UAVs.

At the same time, the Russians are capable of producing no more than 90 Shaheds per day. If they/the Russians attract 25 thousand North Koreans to produce drones, then we can expect that within six months they will have expanded this production and will be able to produce more Shaheds than they are currently producing.

The figure of 25 thousand workers is very large. Even if they work in three shifts, it will be a large-scale enterprise for the production of drones, – emphasized Konstantin Krivolap.

He added that it should be a large industrial complex – there were not many such large ones in Ukraine, usually the number of workers was 10-15 thousand. Therefore, 25 thousand North Koreans is a lot for the production of “Shaheds”.

It should be noted that Volodymyr Zelensky noted that Ukraine, in cooperation with NATO partners, is increasing the production of Shahed interceptor drones. According to the Ukrainian president, several “domestic enterprises – and, accordingly, types of drones – are producing results.”
