The 25-year-old Styrian had to undergo an operation on his left foot, as he announced on Instagram on Monday. “Unfortunately, I had to undergo an operation over the past few months due to persistent pain,” posted Ofner, who is currently ranked 160th.
He did everything possible to treat the unspecified injury conservatively. “But the pain has not gone away and I could no longer wear shoes without pain,” wrote Ofner. He will be out for two to three months, but is looking forward to training again. “I'll come back stronger,” he hopes.
